“Raton Ramblers” hikes in Climax Canyon

Join Ramblin' Round Raton's new walking and hiking group, "Raton Ramblers" for hikes in Climax Canyon! Their first hike is scheduled for Saturday, April 14th. Meet at the Climax Canyon parking lot at 2 pm. Hiking group departs at 2:15 pm. You can hike for 1.5-2 hours for a 1.5 mile loop or hike for 2-2.5 hours for a 3 mile loop. Well behaved dogs on leashes are welcome Weather permitting All participants hike at their own risk

The 22nd annual Walking Together for Healthier Nations (WTHN) walk is scheduled for Wednesday, May 2, 2018. The walk will begin at Cedar Hills Church in Ojo Encino and conclude at Apache Nugget Casino in nearby Cuba. Espanola Walkability Workshop

The City of Espanola and partners are conducting a Walkability Audit to identify and address accessibility concerns for pedestrians. Espanola is pursuing great change, and this seemingly minor exercise is an important step in its move forward. Community leaders have identified five key areas to assess. Anyone who is interested in contributing to a more walkable Espanola is welcome. Please wear comfortable walking shoes. Water and snacks will be provided.
